Notes From The Eighth Meeting
Ruth's Rubes met for our eighth meeting on March 22, 2016. It was a regularly scheduled meeting and we had an overall productive meeting, though there were only a few of us. Here are the notes from our meeting.
We did not develop a control board at this meeting as we thought we would. Most of the elements are now connecting to eachother however, which may negate the need for such measures. The Marvelous Marble Maze prototype had an element transfered onto the machine. It only counts as one step but it still is an additional step. In creating a new part Micah, Gleb, and Gabriella developed a number of new parts. Micah developed a system that incorperates a marble that sits on a washer. The marble is launched by its predessor, creating an easy way to add new steps fast. This system had to have shielding surrounding the launched marble in one curcumstance due to the force that launches it. Most of the elements use marbles currently, a trend that is likely to continue do to the simplicity of employing marbles. Dominoes are disliked as they can be hard to set up and constantly fall over. While we did not take formal count we have approximately 25 steps completed, we need to add more steps quickly.
